Kitchen Fire Damages Townhouse in Woodbridge

Damage to two floors of the home, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

Release, Prince William County Fire and Rescue:

On Tuesday, March 25th, at approximately 9:00 a.m., fire and rescue units were
dispatched to a structure fire in a three story town house located in the 13000 block of Brookside Court in Woodbridge.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units were informed that the residents had safely evacuated the home; firefighters proceeded to the kitchen area within the home discovering extensive smoke and fire damage with extension into the living room. Fire and rescue units extinguished the fire and checked for further extension; smoke and heat damage were discovered on the first and second floor of the home.

One resident was transported to a local medical facility for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

Red Cross services were offered to the displaced residents, 4 adults and 2 children, but services were not required.

The home was posted unsafe by the building official. 
 
The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
