Lock Broken in Interrupted Woodbridge Burglary, Jewelry and Gaming Equipment Stolen

Resident interrupts burglary

Police are looking for a man who reportedly broke into a Woodbridge home but did not steal anything, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police responded to the 13600 block of Lynn Street in Woodbridge on Nov. 8 at 12:30 p.m. for the report of a burglary in progress.

"A resident of the home reported to police that he had just returned home and discovered that the rear door to the residence was open and that the lock was broken," Perok said. "As the resident was checking the home, he observed an unknown man flee from the residence through the rear door. No property was reported missing."

The suspect was described as a Hispanic teen between 13 and 17 years old, about 5-foot-4, 120 pounds, with short black hair. He was described as wearing a black shirt and jeans.

Laptop and gaming equipment stolen

A homeowner in the 3300 block of Rollingwood Drive in Woodbridge reported the loss of a laptop, gaming console, and other property, which in total was worth about $1,500. Police responded on Nov. 7 at 10:35 p.m. for the report of a burglary. The homeowner told the police that the burglary happened between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Police found a lower level window that had been damaged and believe that the burglar broke into the home that way.

Window broken, sets off alarm

Police responded to an alarm in the 2200 block of Henry Watts Loop in Woodbridge on Nov. 7 at 2:58 p.m. 

"Officers arrived at the residence and discovered that a rear basement level window was broken out," Perok said. "A police K-9 was used to check the home. No suspect(s) were located and no property was reported missing."

Jewelry and other property stolen from unsecured home

A homeowner in the 11800 block of Critton Circle in Woodbridge reported the loss of jewelry and other property, with a total value of around $1,400. Police responded on Nov. 5 at 12:25 a.m. for the report of a burglary. The homeowner told police that the burglary happened between 6 p.m. on Oct. 27 and midnight on Nov. 5. Police found no signs of forced entry into the residence.
