Man, 63, Dies Following Woodbridge Crash

Alan Jay Bernstein of Sanford, Fla. died following the crash.

A 63-year-old Florida man has died as the result of injuries he sustained in a car accident last week. 

Alan Jay Bernstein, 63, of Sanford, Fla. died on Jan. 9, the Prince William County Police Department reports.

Police said that at 6:49 p.m. on Jan. 7, Bernstein was heading southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway on the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Drive in the left turn lane.

Bernstein turned into the travel path of a 1998 Honda Accord traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway, police report. The driver of the Honda, a 23-year-old Woodbridge man, was unable to avoid a collision.

Bernstein’s car was struck on the passenger’s side. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.
