Man Accused of Assaulting Acquaintance

Victim told police she tried to leave the residence when the suspect forced her to come back inside, according to Prince William County Police.

A Dale City man is accused of assaulting an acquaintance during an altercation Saturday morning, Prince William County Police said.

Jason Edward Clyburn, 37, of Hillendale Drive, is charged with domestic assault and battery and abduction.

Police responded to the 13400 block of Hillendale Drive at 7:24 a.m., when a 36-year-old woman reported that she and Clyburn were involved in an argument. She told police that she had tried to leave the residence when Clyburn stopped her and forced her to come back inside.

"Once inside the home, the accused assaulted the victim and made threats," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said in a press release. "Police were eventually contacted."

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, Perok said. Officers arrested Clyburn after an investigation.
