Man Charged With Walking in Traffic, Assaulting Officer

Prince William County Police: Man struck officer in the face multiple times.

Prince William County Police arrested a man Saturday, but not before he allegedly assaulted an officer, according to police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Terell Keenan Crews, 26, of 12661 Dulcinea Place, is charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and careless interference with traffic.

Officers responded at 12:55 p.m. Saturday to the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Dumfries Road regarding a call of a disorderly subject walking in traffic and kicking cars.

According to Perok, officers identifed Crews, but he refused to step out of the street.

In an attempt to detain Crews, the man actively resisted and struck one of the officers in the face multiple times, according to police.

"Following a brief struggle, the accused was subsequently arrested," Perok said in a release. "Minor injuries were reported."

Crews is being held on a $15,000 secured bond. His court date was not available.

More taser please and love those drones. If I were a Police officer I'd have 3 on my belt (tasers that is). Why go to a gun fight with a stick??? Tasers were made to subdue thugs from a distance so no one gets hurt.
