UPDATED: Man Wanted for Strangulation Turns Himself In

Attempts to locate suspect have been unsuccessful, Prince William County police said.

Update 3:37 p.m.:  Police announced Friday afternoon that the accused turned himself into police on Oct. 5.

Prince William County Police have issued a warrant for a man in conjunction with a strangulation reported on Potomac Mills Road.

Police responded to the 14600 block of Potomac Mills Road at 11:40 p.m. Oct. 3 for a reported assault. 

According to a police report, a 29-year-old Woodbridge woman reported she and a known acquaintance were involved in a physical altercation. Police reports said Anthony Eugene Wilson, 46, of no fixed address, allegedly walked up to the victim and punched her, knocking her to the ground.

"The victim attempted to run away but the accused caught up to her and knocked her to the ground a second time," said a press release from the department. "At this point, the accused got on top of the victim and began to strangle her. A witness to the incident was able to get the accused off of the victim. The accused left the area prior to police arrival."

Police said the victim sustained minor injuries. Following an investigation, police said a warrant was obtained against Wilson. Attempts to locate Wilson have been unsuccessful, according to police. 

Wilson is described as a black male, 6-foot-6, 225 pounds of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes. Wilson is wanted for strangulation.
