Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run

Victim has been identified by Prince William County Police.

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Woodbridge on Sunday night, according to Prince William County Police.

The victim was identified as Pastoo Pereire of Woodbridge. His age was unknown.

Investigators arrived at the scene at 7:11 p.m. Sunday in the area of Occoquan Road and Vineyard Road, according to Officer Ericca K. Figueora.

The pedestrian was crossing Occoquan Road at the same time that the driver was heading north on the road.

"The driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian and left the scene prior to police arrival," Figueora said in a statement.

Pereire was pronounced dead at the scene.
