Police: 20 Teens in Food Court Brawl

Only one report of minor injuries, according to Prince William County Police.

Investigators are trying to identify participants in a large fight at Potomac Mills Mall over the weekend, according to the Prince William County Police.

Officers responded to a call regarding a large fight near the food court at 6:39 p.m. Saturday. Initial reports suggested that someone had a gun and shots were fired, but no evidence was found to support that claim.

Instead, officers found approximately 20 teens in a fight. As officers tried to break up the larger fight, smaller fights began to break out, according to police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Officer dispersed the group and identified one victim, a 16-year-old of Woodbridge. The boy told police that he was near the food court with friends when another group of teens approached and a verbal altercation escalated.

The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault. No other victims were located. "Detectives are continuing this investigation and are working to identify the other parties involved," according to Perok.
