Police: 2-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering Neighborhood

Mother facing felony child neglect charge, according to Prince William County Police.

A Woodbridge mother is facing charges after her 2-year-old was found wandering her neighborhood alone.

Golou Sylvie Kone, 39, of the 2500 block of Miranda Court in Woodbridge, is charged with felony child neglect.

Police responded to Miranda Court regarding a found child. The 2-year-old boy was reportedly found wandering the neighborhood unsupervised, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Attempts by the caller and police to find the boy's guardian were unsuccessful. Shortly after police arrived, Kone came forward from a nearby residence.

"The investigation revealed that the child was last seen at 11 a.m. that morning," Perok said in a statement. "Following the investigation, the accused was arrested."

The boy was not injured and was released to a family member. Kone was released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
