Police: 6 HVAC Units Stolen From Woodbridge Church

The six HVAC systems were reportedly worth a total of $48,000.

Police have charged three people with grand larceny and obtaining money by false pretenses and one person with receiving stolen property and obtaining money by false pretenses after six exterior HVAC systems were reportedly stolen from the First Church of the Nazarene at 14001 Smoketown Road in Woodbridge, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police responded to the church on Oct. 30 at 5:49 p.m. for the report of a larceny. 

"Church staff reported to police that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown person(s) removed six exterior HVAC systems from the property. The systems had a total value of around $48,000," Perok said. "Surveillance footage was reviewed and showed a dark colored minivan on the property shortly after midnight."

On Oct. 31, police responded to another reported larceny in the 18300 block of Quantico Gateway in Triangle.

"The caller reported to police that sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 31, an unknown person(s) stole two HVAC systems, total value around $14,000," Perok said. "Later that day, detectives from the Property Crimes Unit followed up on a tip which led them to a residence located in the 3600 block of Freemont Place in Woodbridge. Once there, detectives located the van matching that seen during the previous incident, as well as several disassembled parts to multiple HVAC units."

Detectives obtained and executed search warrants and found further evidence reportedly linking the suspects to the larcenies. All four suspects were arrested Oct. 31. 

Christopher Bowers, 29, of Woodbridge, was charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. Dylan Moran, 21, of Woodbridge, was charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. Jay Fitzgerald, 33, of Woodbridge, was charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. Andrea McMichael, 28, of Woodbridge, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Their court date is Dec. 12.
