Police Arrest Four in Dumfries Shooting

Prince William County Police have arrested and charged four Woodbridge men following a Friday shooting in Dumfries.

Police have charged each of the men — Tyliek Eric Kelley, 19; Julian Xavier Bryant, 19; Quientine Kyone Hale, 20; and Taymel Jerome Jackson, 20, all of Woodbridge — with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony, two counts of attempted armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.

According to a police investigation launched Friday, the two male victims, a 16-year-old and 19-year-old from Dumfries, planned to meet up with the group behind Fortuna Center Plaza in Dumfries.

A criminal complaint filed in Prince William General District Court said Kelley, Bryant, Jackson and Hale had [conspired] “to rob the victims of their money which was intended to purchase marijuana.”

The 16-year-old victim met Kelley and Bryant in a car in a Target parking lot, according to court documents. But “the suspects did not produce the marijuana and the victims did not have the money as promised," according to court documents.

"Kelley displayed a handgun and attempted to rob the victim," according to police, at which point the 16-year-old left the vehicle and fled with the other victim toward Stockbridge Drive.

Kelley and Bryant, allegedly armed with a revolver, and Jackson and Hale, allegedly armed with a shotgun in a second vehicle, chased the victims, catching up with them near Taconic Circle, according to the documents.

Jackson fired at the victims, police said, hitting the 16-year-old in the torso and the 19-year-old in the back.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said several detectives were assigned to the case and were “quickly able to develop the identities of those involved.” 

Hale and Bryant were located leaving Bryant’s address on Brightleaf Court in Woodbridge and were detained following a traffic stop, police said. 

Jackson and Kelley were both located at their respective residences where search warrants were also executed.

Police said that following an investigation all four suspects were arrested. The incident was determined not to be random.
