A string of armed robberies at local 7-Elevens has Prince William County Police looking into the possibility of a connection between the incidents.
Police have released new photos of the incidents, all of which occurred in the Dale City, Woodbridge and Dumfries area. In each of the incidents, at least one man showed a gun before demanding money. So far, no one has reported any injuries.
First robbery: Employees at the 7-Eleven on Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries reported that an unknown man pulled out a shotgun before demanding money. The man took an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the area, possibly in a dark-colored vehicle. Police responded to the incident on Sept. 27 at 11:58 p.m.
The suspect was between 25-30 years old, black, 6-foot-3, with a thin build, possibly weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, black shoes, dark colored pants and a blue bandana covered his face.
Second robbery: A police K-9 unit responded to the second incident at the 7-Eleven on Featherstone Road on Oct. 4 at 8:58 p.m.
An unknown man showed a handgun, approached the counter, and demanded money, police said.
The man was described as between 20-25 years old, black, about 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with a thin build. He was wearing track style pants with a white stripe, a white short sleeve shirt with a black long sleeve shirt underneath, and a black mask.
Police are on the lookout for a black man said to be between 18-25 years old, about 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black scarf, white shoes, black pants and striped gloves.
Police responded to the incident at 12:45 a.m. Oct. 10, when an unknown man reportedly entered the store on Darbydale Avenue, showed a handgun and demanded money. The robber stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, police said.
Fourth attempted robbery: Police responded to a fourth incident almost immediately after the third robbery, at 11:44 p.m. Employees at the 7-Eleven on Cloverdale Road reported on Oct. 10 that a strange man showed a gun and demanded money. The employee on duty was unable to get the register open, and the suspect fled on foot. He met a second man in the parking lot. Nothing was stolen.
Police are looking for two men. The first was described as a man with a thin build, between 22-27 years old, 5-foot-11, black, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, black mask and white shirt.
The second man was described as between 18-25 years old, about 5-foot-10, black, with a thin build.
