Police are looking for a suspect who reportedly tried to rob a Woodbridge cab driver, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Police initially responded to the 14900 block of Feeder Lane in Woodbridge on Oct. 7 at 3:06 a.m. for the report of a robbery.
"The victim, a 39-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was a cab driver and was in the area above to pick up a fare," Perok said. "Once there, an unknown man got into the backseat, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. During the encounter, the man struck the victim to his head several times before fleeing the area on foot. No money was taken and minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect."
The suspect is described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old, 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, with a thin build, short black hair, and brown eyes. He was reportedly last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans and carrying a dark backpack.
