Police Blotter: Alleged Rape, School Vandalism and Appliance Theft

Prince William County Police updates for week ending in Sept. 20.

A Prince William County Police investigation into the alleged rape of a 13-year-old Woodbridge girl has resulted in the arrest of Michael Timothy Riley.

Riley, 27 of 14001 Big Crest Lane, is charged with three counts of rape after a police investigation revealed that the victim had been sexually assaulted over the past year. Riley is being held without bond, with no court date available at this time.

At 1:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to Potomac Elementary School for a vandalism call. School security told police that unknown person(s) broke two glass windows at the school valuing $300.

On Sept. 19, police responded to the 3900 block of Forestdale Avenue after reports of a woman screaming for police were called in. Allegedly, the woman and her husband – the accused – were in a verbal argument. Oscar Arutro Campos, 42, is charged with abduction and domestic assault and battery after he kept his wife in the bedroom against her will, preventing her from calling police herself.

Six unknown men attacked three males on Sept. 17 at the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle. The victims – a 17-year-old male from Triangle and two males from Woodbridge aged 16 and 17 – were walking when the six men approached them. After one of the men hit one of the victims over the head, a fight broke out and a shoe was stolen. The six men fled the scene and no description is available for them.

Three burglary incidents occurred in Woodbridge this past week, one of which is reminiscent of an earlier incident involving appliance theft.

According to police, $695 worth of appliances was stolen from the 13400 block of Hillendale Drive between June 12 and Sept. 16. Police said that entry was gained through a rear sliding glass door.

No items were taken from attempted burglaries at the 16800 block of Sea Lawn Place on Sept. 18 or the 1300 block of Bayside Avenue on Sept. 17.
