Police Blotter: Burglaries in Woodbridge

Prince William County Police reports from burglaries in the past week.

iPod stolen from 8-year-old boy at Potomac Mills mall
A mother told Prince William County Police that on Jan. 14 her 8-year-old son was sitting inside Against All Odds in Potomac Mills mall when two unknown man stole his iPod from him and fled the store.

Police are looking for two white males who are described as between 12 and 13 years of age and 15 and 16 years of age.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a North Face-style jacket, white shirt and black jeans. Police said the second suspect was seen wearing a gray skull cap style hat, blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Homeowner finds three unknown men in kitchen while home

A homeowner at the 14000 block of Baneberry Cl told police that a noise was heard in the lower level of the residence on Jan. 15. After the homeowner went to investigate, three unknown men were seen in the kitchen. All three men fled the residence in different directions, no items were reported missing but entry appeared to have been made through a rear basement door.

Police are on the lookout for three black males between 16 and 20 years of age between 5’11” and 150 pounds. All were last seen wearing dark clothing, no further clothing description

Police make arrest in burglary in progress

Police arrested a Woodbridge man and a juvenile after a homeowner at the 2900 block of Glory Ct reported that two unknown men attempted to break into their residence.

Police found the two men who matched the description the homeowner in the area of Smoketown Rd and Gideon Dr.

No items were reported missing and no entry was actually made into the residence; police say charges are pending against the juvenile.

 Dominick Malcom Veal, 19, of Woodbridge was charged with arrested burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, destruction of property and delinquency of a minor. Veal has a court date set for March 1 and is held on a $2,000 secured bond.

 Backpack burglary results in returned items

Prince William County Police caught two juveniles after stealing items from a residence at the 3600 block of Meandering Way on Jan 14. A caller reported to police that two juveniles were seen breaking into window and a short time later, exited with a backpack.

Witnesses confronted the juveniles, who dropped the backpack and fled on foot. Police found the two juveniles, and it was found that the backpack contained stolen items from the house. Charges are pending against both juveniles.
