Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Police conducted a vehicle stop in Powells Creek Blvd and Dettingen Place in Woodbridge Monday and found just under two ounces of marijuana.

Police reports said that the driver and passenger were both detained under suspicions of marijuana.

Mitchell Lee Cannon, 20, of Woodbridge and Ana Isabel Hughes, 19, of Falls Church were arrested.

Cannon, the passenger in the car, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Cannon has a court date set for April 15 and he was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

Hughes, the driver, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and speeding. Hughes’ court date is unavailable.

Malicious Wounding Cases
A 52-year-old Woodbridge woman was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery Monday.

Police reports state that Laurie Angela Jewell, 52, became upset and threw a blunt object at the victim, a 53-year-old man and then bit a second victim, a teenage male.

All parties were family acquaintances. Both victims received medical treatment at a hospital for their injuries.

Jewell was charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery. Her court date is unavailable and she is being held without bond.

Malicious Wounding 

A 47-year-old Woodbridge woman was arrested and charged with malicious wounding Monday.

The victim, a 21-year-old Woodbridge woman, told police that she and the accused, Mirtha Evelyn Llanos, were in a verbal altercation that escalated.

The victim told police that Llanos picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the upper body. The victim was taken to an area hospital for injuries.

Llanos’ court date is unavailable and is being held without bond.
