Police: Bystanders Shot in Woodbridge Incident

Unknown men reportedly opened fire on each other, hitting two bystanders and several cars, according to Prince William County Police.

Two bystanders were shot Saturday evening when unknown men starting shooting at each other nearby, according to Prince William County Police. 

At 6:31 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to call of a shooting in the 1400 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge.

The two victims were located: a 35-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg and a 28-year-old man who was grazed in the arm by a bullet.

The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

"The investigation revealed that two unknown men, one in a vehicle and the other on foot, began shooting at one another for an unknown reason," he said in a statement. "During the shooting, the victims and multiple vehicles were struck."

Police determined the victims were not involved in the incident. Both men fled the area before officers arrived.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, between 20 and 30 years of age with a heavy build and black dreadlocks.

Police describe the second suspect as a black male, between 18 and 25 years of age with a thin build and black dreadlocks. 

The vehicle involved in the incident was a cream colored, 4-door Lincoln Town Car.
