Police Charge Woodbridge Man With Assault, Strangulation

Prince William County Police say suspect was involved in argument with victim, 15.

Prince William County Police investigators have arrested a Woodbridge man in connection to the attempted strangulation and assault of a teen girl, according to police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Ronald Doggett, 54, of the 17000 block of Cass Brook Lane, is charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery. He is being held on a $2,000 secured bond.

Officers arrived at the home at 2 p.m. Saturday in response to a call. According to police, Doggett and the 15-year-old victim, a family member, were involved in an argument that escalated.

During the encounter, Doggett allegedly assaulted the victim and, at one point, grabbed her by the throat, according to Perok. The victim fled the house and contacted police from a neighbor's home.

The victim sustained minor injuries, Perok said.

A court date for Doggett is not available.

This used to be considered discipline.

I hardly think strangling someone is considered discipline. A spanking, whipping, yes, but to strangle your own child - man come on!
