Police Chase Springfield Man Across County Line

Police attempted to stop a vehicle in Woodbridge, but a chase gave way ending at Springfield Mall

Police arrested a Springfield man Tuesday night after Prince William and Fairfax county departments chased him down after he fled from Woodbridge.

Police reports said that Prince William County police attempted to stop Tony Bellafonte Dixon, 31, in the area of Prince William Parkway and Crossing Place Tuesday night around 10:35 p.m. under suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Police said Dixon ignored the police lights and sirens and continued onto northbound Interstate 95. Allegedly, Dixon and a passenger were seen throwing items from the vehicle. One of the items, a large metal object, hit the hood and windshield of a Prince William County cruiser.
