Police: Child Attempts Robbery With Cap Gun

Victim describes suspect as 10-13 years old, according to Prince William County Police.

The description of the suspect in an attempted armed robbery is about a foot shorter than most — and likely still spending time in homeroom.

A woman, 58, was walking to her home on the 14100 block of Cuddy Loop in Woodbridge after parking her car when she was approached by a boy, described as aged 10-13.

Carrying what police believe was a cap gun, the boy allegedly ordered the woman to the ground and demanded the purse. When the victim screamed, a neighbor came out and scared off the suspect. He reportedly fled on his BMX bike.

No property was taken and no injuries were reported, according to police.

The suspect was described as 5 feet tall with a thin build, dark complexion, and black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark colored jeans.
