Police: DUI Mom in 4-Car Wreck, Toddler Not Buckled Up

Child, 1, found unrestrained in the back seat, according to Prince William County Police.

A woman is facing charges including felony child abuse after a four-car wreck in Woodbridge last Friday, according to information released by the Prince William County Police on Tuesday.

Victoria Isabel Holmes, 25, of the 3000 block of Chinkapin Oak Lane in Woodbridge, is charged with felony child abuse/neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under the influence and resisting arrest. She is being held without bond.

At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and River Ridge Boulevard regarding the wreck. One of the drivers in the collision, Holmes was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

"Officers further learned that at the time of the crash, there was a 1-year-old child in the backseat of the vehicle," Perok said. "The child was not restrained in a child safety seat or belt and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation."

The child was eventually released to another family member, according to Perok.
