Police: Dumfries Student Charged With Bringing Handgun to School

Woodbridge resident Joshua Aguilar, 18, has been charged with possession of a firearm on school property, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police responded to Pope John Paul the Great High School in Dumfries on Oct. 3 at 11:59 a.m.

"School staff reported to police that a student, identified as the accused, brought a handgun to school," Perok said. "The accused showed the handgun to another student, who then alerted staff. The student was detained by school staff and the weapon confiscated prior to police arrival. The accused was also found to have been in possession of a knife."

His court date is unavailable and he is being held without bond.
