Police: Dumfries Teen Robbed, Knocked Unconscious

He was reportedly robbed of cash, Prince William County Police said.

Police are investigating the reported robbery and assault of a Dumfries teen in Dumfries on Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m., Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police responded to the 15300 block of Inlet Place in Dumfries on Nov. 12 at 7:49 p.m. for the report of a robbery.

"The victim, a 17-year-old male of Dumfries, reported to police that he was with other known acquaintances in the above area when one of them took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from him and ran towards a vehicle," Perok said in a release. "When the victim went to get the money back, the suspect struck the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious. The victim regained consciousness and was taken to area hospital where police were contacted."

Police do not believe this incident is random. The investigation is ongoing.
