Police: Five Daytime Break-Ins May Be Related

Incidents just blocks from each other with similar access by the burglars.

Prince William County Police detectives are investigating whether five burglaries may be related — all during the day on Friday in the Smoketown Road area of Woodbridge.

Four of the homes were off Smoketown Road and a fifth was on nearby Sunny Brook Court.

In one incident on Russell Road, a basement sliding glass door was broken out, with an iPad stolen from the home. A nearby Smoketown Road homeowner reported a sliding glass door broken out, with jewelry missing that was valued around $100,000.

In a townhouse community a half-mile down Smoketown Road, two more homeowners reported sliding glass doors broken out. One homeowner was missing jewelry worth $1,500 and the other was missing an undisclosed amount of cash.

In the fifth incident, a basement window was broken out in a townhome on Sunny Brook Court and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
