Police: Former Employee Smashed Windows at Car Wash

The business manager told police that the suspect broke several windows with a metal bar.

A disgruntled former employee confronted the manager at Tackett's Mill Car Wash in Woodbridge, broke several windows, then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Prince William County Police said.

Preston Lewis Wilson, 46, of no fixed address, is charged with destruction of property and robbery.

Police responded on Sept. 5 at 11:25 a.m. to the business on Harbor Drive, where the manager reported the incident.

"The business manager reported to police that the accused, a former employee, broke several windows to the business with a metal bar," said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. "The accused then confronted the manager with the metal bar in hand, at which point, the manager gave the accused an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. The accused then left the area on foot."

Police said that Wilson caused about $1,600 worth of damage to the windows. No one was injured. Police found Wilson later on and arrested him without incident.

Wilson is held without bond pending an Oct. 7 court date.
