Police: Four of Stabbed Teen's Friends Charged With Attempted Armed Robbery

Prince William County Police have arrested four of Woodbridge Senior High School Vikings linebacker Kenny Diaz's acquaintances.

Four of Vikings linebacker Kenny Diaz's acquaintances were arrested Sept. 24 and charged with attempted armed robbery in connection with the ongoing murder investigation after Diaz was stabbed on Sept. 21, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

The four acquaintances arrested are all juveniles. 

Diaz was found bleeding to death at Marumsco Acre Lake Park on Saturday after he reportedly confronted suspect Diandra Samuels after she allegedly robbed one of his friends, according to police. He later died at the hospital. Samuels has been charged with murder, abduction and armed robbery. Five other suspects were charged with abduction, and the next day, two more suspects were charged with abduction.

Diaz and three of the four acquaintances reportedly went to Samuels' home on the day of the stabbing, according to police. 

"During the confrontation, Diaz and his acquaintances planned to rob Samuels in retaliation for the previous robbery on Sept. 12," Perok said. "The encounter escalated when the handgun was displayed causing the group to disperse and ultimately leading to the abduction, stabbing, and death of Kenny Diaz."

All four teens were 16-year-old Woodbridge males. They have all have been charged with attempted armed robberyuse of a firearm in commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit a felony

"One of the 16-year-old male juveniles arrested yesterday was not physically present during the actual encounter at Samuels' residence on Bellona Road on Sept. 21," Perok said. "However, he is still connected to the incident and was charged with the same offenses."  

Their court date is unavailable and they were held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
