Three teens have been arrested in the weekend fight at Potomac Mills, according to Prince William County Police. The incident Saturday appears to have been gang related, according to police.
Two suspects are 15 years old and from Woodbridge, the third is 14 years old and from Triangle. They've all been charged with 1 count of malicious wounding, 1 count of assault & battery, and 2 counts of gang participation.
The arrest were made Feb. 19 after detectives from the gang unit identified the suspects, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.
"Detectives further learned that the altercation stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two rival street gangs," Perok said.
Officers found approximately 20 teens in a fight Saturday night. As officers tried to break up the larger fight, smaller fights began to break out, according to police.
The victim, 16, told police that he was near the food court with friends when another group of teens approached and a verbal altercation escalated.
