Police: Homeowners Foil Two Morning Burglary Plots

In both incidents, burglars were scared off before anything was stolen, according to Prince William County Police.

Police are investigating two different attempted burglaries Monday morning where the perpetrator was forced to flee after the homeowner called police, according to Prince William County Police.

At 7 a.m. Monday, a resident in the 3700 block of Thomasson Crossing Drive in Triangle heard something in his kitchen and found that an unknown man was trying to break in through a locked door. 

The victim scared the subject off. As police approached the scene, they spotted the subject running nearby. But, he was able to avoid police during a foot pursuit when he ran into a wooded area.

The subject is described as a black male, between 16 and 21 years old, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black coat and blue jeans, carrying a backpack.

Miles away, in the 3300 block of Pickwick Court in Woodbridge, a resident contacted police at 11:25 a.m. Monday morning regarding an attempted break-in. The man was in another part of the house when he heard glass breaking downstairs.

The home alarm went off as he was speaking with police, causing the two subjects to flee the scene.

The two men are described as Hispanic. One had a medium build and black hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, while carrying a black backpack.
