Police: Knife Threat After Wal-Mart Shoplifter Confronted

Suspect fled the scene without his loot, according to Prince William County Police.

A Wal-Mart employee was threatened by a shoplifting suspect holding a knife, according to Prince William County Police.

Officers responded to the scene at 2:13 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart on 14000 Worth Avenue, near Potomac Mills Mall. 

"A Wal-Mart loss prevention officer had confronted an unknown male in the vestibule of the store when the man attempted to leave the store without purchasing items in his possession," according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

During the encounter, the man yelled at the loss prevention officer and pulled out a knife, according to Perok. The man fled on foot, leaving behind the items he attempted to take from the store.

No injuries were reported and all items reported missing were recovered.  

Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect.
