Updated: Arrest Made in Marumsco Plaza Shooting

Update, 9:16 a.m.: Prince William County detectives have arrested the man responsible for the shooting which occurred last night in the parking lot of the Marumsco Plaza, according to a post on the department's Facebook page. Police are still investigating the hit and run incident. 

Additional information regarding the arrest is expected to be released later today. 

Original Post: Prince William County police responded to the Marumsco Plaza at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

Police said an adult male victim has been flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"The shooting appeared to have stemmed from a fight which took place involving the victim and a known acquaintance," said the posting. An additional Facebook posting said "the victim in this incident was shot in the parking lot of Marumsco Plaza which stemmed from a fight." 

The Facebook page post said that after being shot, the victim was walking on Bayside Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that then left the area.

"The vehicle is not believed to have been related to the shooting," the post said. "At this time, no details are available on the striking vehicle. Police are investigating this as two separate incidents."
