Police: Man Shot in the Head in Woodbridge Armed Robbery
The two masked robbers reportedly stole cash and cigarettes from the tobacco store.
A Springfield man was shot in the head in yesterday's shooting and armed robbery at US 1 Tobacco at 13434 Jefferson Davis Highway.
"The investigation revealed that two armed, masked men entered the business, approached the employees, and demanded money. During the encounter, one of the employees, a 37-year-old man of Springfield, was shot in the head," Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said in a release. "The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and cigarettes before fleeing the store, unknown if on foot or in a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The investigation continues."
The suspects have only been described as males of unknown race and age.
