Police: Man Struck With Beer Bottle at Woodbridge Seafood Restaurant

The Alexandria man was reportedly attacked from behind while at Water's Edge in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

An Alexandria man is wanted for malicious wounding after another Alexandria man reported being struck in the face with with a beer bottle at Water's Edge in Woodbridge, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police initially responded to the restaurant at 1:37 a.m. Saturday for a reported fight.

"The victim, a 26-year-old man of Alexandria, reported to police that he was inside the establishment when he was approached by an unknown man, later identified as the accused," Perok said. "The accused approached the victim from behind and struck him in the face with a beer bottle. Security staff detained the accused and was able to identify him; however the accused was able to flee prior to police arrival."

The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

"The incident appeared to have stemmed from a verbal altercation between the two men," Perok said.

After an investigation, police obtained a warrant against Christopher Blakeney, 29, of 1101 Collingwood Road in Alexandria. Blakeney is pictured to the right, in a photo from March of 2012. He is described as a black male, 5-foot-9, of a heavy build, weighing about 210 pounds, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a beard.
