Police: Man Used Stolen Credit Cards to Buy $150K in High-End Kitchen Appliances

Woodbridge woman also charged with obstruction of justice.

A man used stolen credit cards to buy $150,000 worth of high-end kitchen appliances and other property from Home Depot stores, Prince William County Police said.

Sabastian Adu Gyamfi, 56, of Armitage Court in Woodbridge, is charged with two counts of credit card theft, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of possession of stolen property.

Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit arrested Gyamfi on July 30. They also executed a search warrant at Gyamfi's home and at the Public Storage on Jefferson Davis Highway. In three separate storage units, they found approximately $150,000 in high-end kitchen appliances and other property, said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. Police also found computers and other property at Gyamfi's home, Perok said.

Police also arrested another person, Diana Oppong, 37, of the same address, and charged her with obstruction of justice. Gyamfi made contact with her "in order to attempt to destroy evidence," Perok said.

Police continue to investigate the case.
