Police: Man Wanted in Abduction, Assault of Dumfries Woman

Domestic incident ended with victim calling 9-1-1, suspect fleeing with her laptop, according to Prince William County Police.

Prince William County Police investigators are searching for a man in the alleged abduction and assault of a Dumfries woman, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Isaac Afriyie Sarpong, 25, is wanted on charges of abduction, domestic assault and battery, preventing a call to 9-1-1 and grand larceny.

Aside from the attached photo of Sarpong (Dec. 2012), police describe the suspect as a black male, 5’4”, 130lbs, with a thin build, light complexion, short, black hair and brown eyes.

Police responded at 1:10 p.m. Friday to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive regarding a domestic dispute.

The victim, 22, told police that she was in an argument with Sarpong.

"During encounter, the accused assaulted the victim multiple times," Perok said. "The victim attempted to use her cell phone to call 9-1-1, at which point, the accused grabbed the phone and further prevented her from leaving the residence."

The victim eventually got her phone and called police. Sarpong allegedly fled the scene with the victim's laptop, valued at $1,500, Perok said. The victim sustained minor injuries, he said.
