Metro Bus Driver Accused of Driving Car to 2010 Centreville Slaying

Stacy Lorenzo Reed, of Manassas, is charged with conspiracy to commit a Hobbs Act Robbery for his alleged role in the death of a Manassas Park man, authorities said.

U.S. Marshals arrested a Metro bus driver Wednesday morning and charged him in connection with a 2010 Centreville home invasion that led to the death of a Manassas Park man.

Stacy Lorenzo Reed, 43, of Manassas, is charged with conspiracy to commit a Hobbs Act Robbery, and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon. The Hobbs Act is a federal law that prohibits robbery that affects interstate commerce.

Reed is accused of driving two others, Tasheik Ashanti Champean and Reynard Prather, to the home on Compton Road on May 17, 2010, where Jose Rosales Cardona was ultimately shot. Cardona, a family employee and immigrant from Guatemala, was shot while trying to defend a member of the family, authorities previously said.

Champean pleaded guilty last week to his role in the incident; Prather was sentenced to 30 years earlier this year for his.

A spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service said that they took Reed into custody without incident around 7:30 a.m. at his bus route at the Pentagon Metro bus stop.
