Police: Mother Charged After Boy, 3, Left Alone

Officers say the child was outside alone for an hour in the middle of the night, according to Prince William County Police.

A Woodbridge mother is accused of leaving her 3-year-old son alone for an hour in the middle of the night, according to Prince William County Police.

Nakeys Meschelle Hardy, 20, of the 2800 block of Woodmark Dr, is charged with reckless child endangerment. She was granted bond at $3,500.

Officers arrived to the woman's block at 12:44 a.m. Sunday when a neighbor reported locating the boy walking along the street unsupervised.

Police found the boy's home, but determined that it was unoccupied. They were able to obtain a phone number for Hardy. After she returned home, it was determined that the boy was alone for approximately an hour, according to police.

The boy was not injured.
