Two Woodbridge residents have been arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny after an investigation in Montclair.

After further investigation, police think that one of the suspects  – William Russell Griffin, 23 of Woodbridge – is connected to 18 burglaries in Montclair where similar tactics and entries were used. Some of these incidents date back to June and July 2010. More charges are expected to be brought against Griffin.

Police said that they identified Griffin after he had an interaction with police in Dinwiddie County, VA near Petersburg. Griffin was in possession of a stolen vehicle and merchandise reported from Prince William County.

That stolen property connected Griffin to a burglary in the 15800 block of Edgewood Drive in November and December of 2010, police said. Police said Griffin went through an opened garage door, through an unlocked interior door to the residence at night while the occupants were asleep.

Police said that Griffin took a key to the homeowner’s vehicle that he used several times over the course of a month and at night while the owner was asleep.  Police also said that Griffin unlocked a window for future entries, which he entered three times.

An iPod and camera were also taken from the house as well as a spare key in additional robberies.

The second suspect, Tony Michael Vaccarino, 24 of Woodbridge, was working with Griffin, police said and was also arrested in connection to one burglary of a similar nature which was reported to have occurred in the 4200 block of Avon Dr in October of 2010. In this case, a TV was reported missing but has since been recovered.

Pedestrian involved crash

Police have identified a 37-year-old Woodbridge woman as the driver in a pedestrian accident on Feb. 4.

The vehicle hit the pedestrian on the right front corner of the car; the pedestrian was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening. No charges were filed with this crash.

The pedestrian was identified as a 43-year-old woman from Triangle.
