Police: School Did Not Notify Authorities of Student's Report of Rape

Evangel Christian School was required by law to report accusations against a teacher, but did not, according to Prince William County Police.

Evangel Christian School was notified in the mid-1990s that a student had accused a teacher of rape, but did not inform authorities, Prince William County Police said.

Police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said that the Dale City school is required by law to inform Child Protective Services of abuse accusations, but did not. No one from the school will be charged with failure to report, because the statute of limitations has passed.

On Monday, police arrested Karold Stallard, 77, of Forest Spring Lane in Earlysville, in Albemarle on multiple charges. The student reported to police last week that the alleged abuse took place between 1982 and 1987, with some incidents taking place on school grounds.

The small school educates children in grades PreK-12 and "was founded in 1969 to provide an alternative to secular humanistic education for the Christian family," according to the school's website. The school's principal did not return calls for comment Tuesday.
