Police Seek Man Wanted for Malicious Wounding

A 28-year-old woman reported that Kiajual Barshawn Dunlap, 28, of Temple Hills, MD, assaulted her.

A Woodbridge woman reported that an acquaintance assaulted her and tried to pull a gun during the struggle. Prince William County Police are asking for the public's help to find him. 

Kiajual Barshawn Dunlap, 28, of Temple Hills, MD, is wanted for malicious wounding. He is described as a black male about 156 pounds, six feet tall, with black dreadlocks, brown eyes and a thin build (photo at right is from May 2011). 

The 28-year-old woman reported on Oct. 24 at 4:49 p.m. that she and Dunlap were on the 2500 block of Chadwick Court in Lake Ridge, when they began to argue. The argument quickly escalated as they walked into a parking lot, police said.

"During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim, resulting in a struggle," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, said in a press release. "While the two were struggling, the accused attempted to grab a handgun." 

Witnesses were able to break up the fight, and Dunlap fled the area. The woman did sustain injuries to her upper body, Perok said. After an investigation, police obtained a warrant for Dunlap's arrest.
