Police: Sketch Released in Rape Investigation

Woman told police that she awoke to find a man with a gun in her room, according to Prince William County Police.

Investigators are hopeful that a sketch of a suspicious person will provide new information in a sexual assault early Thursday in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

At 6:10 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to apartments in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cl.

The female victim told police that she was asleep in her home when she awoke around 4:30 a.m. to find an unknown man in her room. The suspect was armed with a handgun and raped the victim before leaving the residence.

Two other occupants were inside the apartment at the time of the incident and were unharmed. WJLA reports the other people in the home were children.

During a canvass of the apartment complex, neighbors reported seeing a suspicious man on multiple occasions.

The suspect is described as a black male with short black hair, medium build and an unshaven face. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a dark colored jacket.
