Suspect Arrested in Woodbridge Bank Robbery Investigation

Fayetteville, N.C., police apprehend two suspects after a bank robbery in the city Tuesday. Prince William County Police link one of the individuals to the Burke and Herbert incident Saturday.

A suspect in a Smoketown Road bank robbery has been apprehended in Fayetteville, N.C., according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Russell Frederick Culbreth, 34, of New Cumberland, W.Va., has been charged with robbery by PWC police. He has a court date set for April 17, 2013, in North Carolina.

Fayetteville Police Department officers arrested Culbreth and a second suspect following a bank robbery Tuesday.

"A joint investigation by the Prince William County Police Robbery Unit and the FBI revealed that one of the suspects, Russell Culbreth, was responsible for the bank robbery which occurred at the Burke and Herbert Bank located at 14008 Smoketown Rd in Woodbridge on Feb. 23," Perok said.

Culbreth is expected to be extradited to Prince William County. Perok said that Culbreth was also wanted in Hancock County, W.Va., in connection with a bank robbery in that jurisdiction.

Employees at the Burke and Herbert Bank told police that a man approached the counter on Saturday morning and passed a note to the teller demanding money. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
