Police: Teen Sexually Assaulted Outside Potomac Library

Prince William County Police said that the man assaulted the 14-year-old victim and then fled the area.

Prince William County Police are searching for the suspect in an alleged sexual assault outside the Potomac Library.

The 14-year-old Woodbridge girl reported at 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 11 that an unknown man approached her as she was standing outside the library. The man began to talk to her while he was still behind her, then at one point, sexually assaulted her, police said. The library was closed during the incident.

Police are looking for a white male, 18-22 years old, 6'2"-6'5" tall, with pale skin, a messy beard, pointy nose and thin build. He had a northern accent, possibly from New Jersey. He was wearing a gray or white jacket with a turtleneck underneath, baggy jeans, gray knit cap, white shoes and small rectangle glasses.

Police ask anyone with information on the case to call Crime Solvers at 703-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS.

Too bad the girl didn't know karate & kick his butt herself. Let some girls learn some self defense & start whooping up on these guys that try some foolishness. I bet they'll think twice before doing it again.

Fighting back at a sexual assailant hasn't been proven effective, and, in some instances, has only worsened the attack on the victim. In theory, momof2girls, it's a great idea, but too much research has shown it to be futile. :(
