Police Updates: Hit-and-Run at a Car Wash, Applebee's Armed Robbery and Pepper Spray Arrest

For the week of Aug. 22 - 30.

An investigation into the severe crash at the Sonic Soft Car Wash on Jefferson Davis Highway yesterday has resulted in a hit-and-run and reckless driving arrest.

Miguel Stanley Aguirre-Casoverde, the accused, was driving a 2006 Jeep SUV out of the car wash tunnel when he accelerated before making a hard left turn. The Jeep hit an empty 2004 Infinite SUV and two pedestrians who were standing nearby.

Allegedly, Aguirre-Casoverde fled the scene before police arrived but came back to the scene of the crime and was arrested. The two pedestrians, identified as a 48-year-old Stafford woman and a 20-year-old Woodbridge man, were flown to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Aguirre-Casoverde, 19, of 13788 Lyn St. was arrested and has a court date set for Oct. 6.

A serious crash occurred on Aug. 27 in the 14000 block of Foulger Sq. where a 2008 Volkswagen compact made a left turn and crossed in front of a Suzuki motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as a 47-year-old Woodbridge man, was ejected from the bike. The Volkswagen driver was identified as a 24-year-old Woodbridge woman.

A 27-year-old Woodbridge man was in a serious crash on Aug. 28 at Cardinal Drive and Mendoza Lane. Reportedly, the man struck a curb and hit trees on the center median. Speed is apparently a factor in this case.

On August 29th police responded to Big Crest Dr and Rippon Blvd in Woodbridge for a crash. The driver of a 2002 Chevrolet SUV entered a curve too fast and hit several bushes.

The accused, George Richardson Jr, 29, of 2205 Montgomery Ave in Woodbridge, was charged with unauthorized use, driving under the influence of drugs, hit-and-run, obstruction of justice, driving on a revoked license and three counts of child neglect.

Driver left the scene but was located his residence; three children aged 11, 12 and 13 were also in the car. No injuries were reported.

An unidentified man displayed a handgun and demanded money from a 23-year-old Stafford woman and employee of Applebee's at 13850 Noblewood Plz on Aug. 28.  Allegedly, the man entered the restaurant after it was closed and forced the victim and two other employees to the back of the restaurant. Police are looking for a male described as about five foot nine inches tall, 225 pounds of medium build. He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, dark blue or black sweatshirt, navy blue and white bandana and a white hat.

Cody Vincent Compton, 19, of 14107 Cove Landing Road in Woodbridge was arrested in connection to the "pepper spray" robbery on Aug. 22.
