Police Updates: Hit and Run; Marijuana Charges; Stalking

Woodbridge-related police updates for Feb. 23.

Hit and Run
A Woodbridge man has been charged with a felony hit and run, driving with a suspended license and no valid insurance or registration after a crash in Dale City.

Police responded to the area of Minnieville and Hereford roads on Feb. 20 when the accused, driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, crossed over to the southbound lanes of traffic and hit a 2005 Ford Taurus which overturned the Blazer.

The accused, Eloy Vega, 33 of Woodbridge, reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by police. The driver of the Taurus went to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Vega's court date is unavailable at this time and his bond infomration is unavailable.

Two Woodbridge Men Charged with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Police executed a search warrant at 2710 Penbury Ct., apartment #302 for an investigation into the distribution of marijuana.

Frederick Jose Cardenas, 20, and Jean-Marc Niamkey Gnanzou Tahi, 21, were charged with  possession with intent to distribute marijuana on Tuesday. 

Cardenas is also charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana; he is being held on a $6,000 secured bond. Tahi is held on a $1,500 secured bond.

Stalking Arrest
Police arrested a 33-year-old Dumfries man, a former sex offender, was charged with stalking a 17-year-old Woodbridge girl.

The victim told police Jason Roy Bolton had come to her place of employment in the 2400 block of Prince William Parkway on Feb. 18 and had been seen driving on the street where she resides in Woodbridge. 

Police obtained a warrant for Bolton on Feb. 19 and made an arrest. Bolton was convicted Oct. 28, 2010 for indeccent liberties with child by custodian. According to Virginia State Police records, Bolton is currently on probation.
