Police Updates: Incidents and Arrests

Tuesday updates will be incident and arrest-related. Thursday updates will be burglaries, car crashes and other incidents.

Prince William County Police reported the following incidents this past week: an armed robbery, assault by mob, another shooting, attempted malicious wounding and extortion.

Armed Robbery:
Police responded to the 4600 block of Charlton Court on Oct. 1 for a robbery call. The victim, a 29-year-old man from Maryland told police he was flagged down by three men while trying to deliver food. One man pulled a knife on the victim and threatened him before taking the food and money from the victim. 

Police are looking for all three suspects, who are described as African-American between the ages of 18 to 22.

Assault by Mob:
On Oct. 2, police responded to the 4500 block of Kentland Drive for a fight. Five juvenile females were in a fight after a house party in the area. Investigation continues although all females were identified.

Shooting:
Police arrested a 19-year-old Lake Ridge man on Oct. 1 for a shooting. Justin Wayne Wright was arrested and charged with shooting from a moving vehicle and wearing body armor while committing a crime. Police said that the victim in this case was standing in the area of the 4200 block of Harvest Court when two known acquaintances drove up to the victim and began shooting. No one was hurt in the incident and the other person evaded the police and an investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding:
A 9-year-old Woodbridge boy told police that he was hit in the ear by a BB pellet shot by a 13-year-old Woodbridge boy in the area of Delaware Road and Tilletson Place. The 13-year-old was taken to a juvenile detention center. 

Extortion:
Woodbridge resident Adam Joshua Ward, 23, was arrested on Oct. 1 for extortion. The victim, a 21-year-old Dumfries woman, told police during a home invasion and sexual assault investigation that she had been receiving emails extorting sexual photos of her before the aforementioned incident. An investigation continues.
