Police: Woman Charged After Leaving Kids in Car for an Hour

Hiba Najeeb Nadhim, of Lorton, is charged with felony child neglect.

A woman was charged after she left her two daughters in the car for about an hour while she went inside a store, Prince William County Police said. 

Hiba Najeeb Nadhim, 36, of Lewis Chapel Circle in Lorton, is charged with two counts of felony child neglect.

Officers responded to the 13700 block of Foulgers Square in Woodbridge on Saturday at 12:36 p.m. after receiving a call reporting child neglect. Officers found two girls, ages 8 and 5, inside an unattended vehicle in the parking lot. 

Police said that Nadhim went inside the store for about an hour. The children were not harmed.

Nadhim was arrested and subsequently released on her personal recognizance.
