Police: Tire Iron a Weapon in Woodbridge Assault

Woman charged with malicious wounding, victim reported minor injuries.

A Woodbridge woman struck an acquaintance on the head with a tire iron after an argument escalated, Prince William County Police said. 

Phyllis Denice Lindsay, 23, of Longwood Manor Court, is charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery. 

Police responded to the 2100 block of Culpeper Drive on Sunday at 6:02 p.m. A 26-year-old man reported that he and Lindsay were arguing, when she grabbed a tire iron from her vehicle and struck him on the head. After the assault, Lindsay left the area, but officers found her and subsequently arrested her.

The victim reported minor injuries. Lindsay is held without bond. Her court date was unavailable.
