Police: Woman's Purse Grabbed at Woodbridge Wawa

Police are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to rob a woman at a Woodbridge Wawa on Aug. 20.

Police are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to rob a woman at the Wawa at 15809 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge on Aug. 20, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police responded at 8:46 p.m. for the report of an attempted robbery.

"The victim, a 49-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she went into the store to withdraw money from the ATM, then returned to her vehicle in the parking lot," Perok said. "As she and her husband were backing the vehicle from the parking space, an unknown man approached them, waving his hands. The driver, the victim’s husband, lowered the passenger window where the victim was seated. At that point, the man grabbed the victim’s purse. The victim was able to hold onto the purse and the suspect fled, getting into an older model vehicle with another unknown man."

No property was stolen and no one was injured. Police are looking for a white man between 18 and 35 years old, with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, beige shorts and sunglasses. Police are also looking for a Hispanic man between 18 and 35 years old, with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and sunglasses.
