Police: Woodbridge Woman Assaulted After Man Kicks in Door

The reported assault happened in Gainesville, Prince William County Police said.

Police arrested a man after a Woodbridge woman said she had been assaulted on March 8, Prince William County Police spokesperson Ericca Figueroa said. 

Genaro Alfre Vasquez Guzman, 32, of Manassas, was charged with burlgary with the intent to assault, assault and battery and possession of marijuana. Police initially responded to Artemus Drive in Gainesville at 3:25 a.m. on March 8 for the report of a burglary. 

"The victim, a 31-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, kicked in the back door of her residence, entered the residence and physically assaulted her," Figueroa said. "The accused was still on scene when officers arrived and was arrested without incident. During a search of the accused, officers located marijuana."

The incident seems to be domestic in nature, Figueroa added. Vasquez Guzman's court date and bond information is unavailable.
