Police Working to Identify Hit-and-Run Driver

The driver hit a skateboarder who crossed in the path of the car on Jefferson Davis Highway.

Prince William County Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge earlier this week.

A police investigation showed that the driver of a 1997 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on the highway, near East Longview Drive, when an 18-year-old male skateboarder crossed in its path. The driver fled the scene after the collision, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police searched the area for the car, and eventually found it unoccupied at Prince William Plaza. The car was not stolen. Police are working to find out who the driver was.
